2006 WATERLOO USDF SHOW

2006 USDF Show Waterloo, MI

A product of remarkable breeding "Coronado" is a beautiful stallion, extremely willing and eager to please. His round bascule, strong loin and powerful hindquarters are what make him a pleasant, supple, yet ground covering mover. He possesses an explosive jump in "textbook" style that warranted praise from all inspectors. Gaining his preliminary approval at only 3 years of age Coronado has been profiled as "one to watch for" in the Show Jumping ranks.

"Coronado" is unquestionably bred to perform. His pedigree is truly legendary. Sire, Orlando has proven himself as a Grand Prix Jumper, most recently in July 2005 placing 2nd in the 1.60m at Lennen CSIO****. In 2002 he won the Belgain Championship for 6-year-olds. In 2001 he won the "style" competition in Achen twice, and had clear rounds in the Classic Cycle for 5-year-olds in Belgium.

As a sire Orlando is proving himself as a breeding stallion, various offspring have achieved high rankings at foal championships, and one of his offspring was sold to Germany for a record price. The loose jumping competition in Nieuwvliet was also won by a yearling from Orlando.

"Coronado's" grandsire, Heartbreaker is presently one of the best sport horse producers in Europe, and led Belgian's jumping index for 3 years and is honoured as a 'keur' predicate stallion. Heartbreaker's sire "Nimmerdor" is seen twice in  Coronado's pedigree on the Sire and the Dam's side. Nimmerdor is a predicate "Preferent" stallion and was "stallion of the century" in 2000. Coronado's great grandsire, Darco is currently ranked 8th in the world as a sire of show jumpers.

"Coronado's" dam's sire is Kannan, who has many International wins to his name including the 2005 French National Championship and for the 2nd time has won the Grand Prix at Deauville (2005 and 2003). A mare by Kannan won the 2005 East Coast Jumper Championship for 5-year-olds. We round out Coronado's pedigree with the legendary 'keur' and "preferent" stallion Voltaire, also FuriosoII, Sandro and again Nimmerdor.

"Coronado's" talent and pedigree have laid the foundation for not only a great horse but a sire as well. He is slowly and carefully beginning his career with a solid dressage foundation and in 2007 he moved into the Jumper ring. In March he jumper his first fence undersaddle and has continued to show us this is what he likes to do. He and his amature rider competed in the Training Jumper and Adult Jumper divisions. We were very pleased with his performance at the Kentucky National Horse Show in September, 2007. They also participated in two clinics in between shows (Greg Best and Joe Fargis). While he continues training we will be monitoring his bookings to approved mares.
